Yankees' Gil to undergo Tommy John surgery
New York Yankees right-hander Luis Gil will undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery on Tuesday, Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Saturday, according to The Athletic's Lindsey Adler.
Gil suffered the injury during his start on Wednesday for the Yankees' Triple-A affiliate.
The news is very unfortunate but I am very grateful to God and I always will be because I know that God does everything with a purpose, you just have to have faith and keep your head up, this is not over, I will be back soon, thanks to all the fans I'm going to miss you π₯Ίπππ pic.twitter.com/4h5B1JGAkA

Gil put together a strong campaign in 2021, registering a 3.07 ERA and 11.66 K/9 in 29 1/3 innings pitched.
