The San Diego Padres and reliever Yusmeiro Petit have agreed to a minor-league deal, the reliever's agent confirmed to Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Petit, 37, is a 14-season veteran. If he makes the majors with the Padres, Petit will be making an appearance for his seventh MLB team.

Most recently, the right-hander pitched for the Oakland Athletics, making 258 appearances over the past four years. He authored a 3.07 ERA and 4.06 FIP over 275 2/3 innings during that span. However, last year was the worst of those four seasons, as he posted a 3.92 ERA and 4.72 FIP over 78 innings.

The depth move comes with Padres relievers Austin Adams, Michel Baez, Pierce Johnson, and Drew Pomeranz all on the injured list.
