Dodgers turn to Buehler in Game 6 with season on line vs. Braves
Veteran Max Scherzer was originally slated to start but was scratched due to lingering arm fatigue.
Buehler will be pitching on three days' rest after toeing the rubber in Game 3 on Tuesday. He'll look for better results after allowing four runs (two earned), six hits, and four walks while hurling 76 pitches over 3 2/3 innings.
If the Dodgers lose, the Braves would advance to face the Houston Astros in the World Series. Atlanta hasn't appeared in a Fall Classic since being swept by the New York Yankees in 1999.
The Dodgers crushed the Braves 11-2 in Game 5 to stave off elimination. L.A. is looking to overcome a 3-1 deficit in the NLCS against Atlanta for the second straight season.
Braves rookie Ian Anderson is scheduled to go opposite Buehler in Saturday's contest. Anderson allowed two runs on three hits over three innings of work in Game 2.
If the Dodgers win, Game 7 will be played Sunday night at Truist Park.
