New York Yankees right-hander Jameson Taillon exited Tuesday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays during the third inning after re-aggravating his right ankle injury, the team announced, according to Lindsey Adler of The Athletic.
Taillon, whom the Yankees just activated off the injured list, was met by the training staff following his strikeout of Danny Jansen.
The 29-year-old allowed one run on one hit and one walk while striking out two over 2 1/3 innings before being replaced by Michael King. Taillon possesses a 4.40 ERA and 4.46 FIP over 141 innings, making 28 starts this season.
The Yankees occupied the top AL wild-card spot heading into Tuesday's action, with a one-game lead on the Boston Red Sox and two-game lead on the Blue Jays. Heading toward the postseason, the rotation is headlined by Gerrit Cole, Corey Kluber, and Nestor Cortes Jr.
