Padres' Snell exits after 11 pitches with left adductor tightness
Snell appeared to tweak something in his lower body and immediately motioned to the bench before being removed.
The Padres did not indicate how much time he is expected to miss.
While the 28-year-old is having something of an uneven year in his inaugural season in San Diego, he's been mostly excellent since the start of August. Entering Sunday, Snell was 3-2 with a 1.85 ERA and 65 strikeouts across 43 2/3 innings over his most recent seven starts.
With the Padres sitting in a distant third place in the NL West behind the San Francisco Giants and Dodgers, the second NL wild-card spot is the club's only real path to the playoffs. Losing Snell for any significant amount of time may hinder their postseason pursuit as they're currently neck-and-neck with the Cincinnati Reds.
