The Toronto Blue Jays will require fans to provide either proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result to attend the final 12 games at Rogers Centre this season, the team announced.
The new measures, which will impact fans, staff, and guests aged 12 or older, are set to come into effect for the team's last two homestands beginning Sept. 13. Individuals will need to show proof of vaccination either digitally or on paper, along with proof of ID.
"We are committed to doing our part to keep our community's recovery efforts moving forward and to see Rogers Centre and other live event venues return to full capacity," the team said. "The well-being of Blue Jays fans, staff, and players has always been our priority, and we are proud to join fellow venues in making large-scale events as safe as possible."
The Blue Jays played their first game in Toronto on July 30 after beginning the season in Dunedin, Florida, and later Buffalo, New York, due to COVID-19 travel restrictions. A 15,000-fan capacity limit has been enforced at Rogers Centre since the team returned to Canada.
