The Atlanta Braves have acquired outfielder Jorge Soler from the Kansas City Royals for right-hander Kasey Kalich, the team announced.

Soler is the third outfielder the Braves have acquired on Friday after trading for Eddie Rosario and Adam Duvall earlier in the day following Ronald Acuna Jr.'s season-ending injury. The club already landed Joc Pederson from the Cubs two weeks ago.

The slugging Soler has struggled in 2021 while batting .192/.288/.370, but he's shown signs of life in July with seven home runs over 21 games.

The 29-year-old produced a breakout campaign in 2019, leading the American League with 48 home runs and later receiving down-ballot MVP votes. He'll be a free agent this winter.

Kalich, 23, was the Braves' fourth-round pick in 2019. He owns a 3.26 ERA and 1.65 WHIP with five saves in Single-A this season.
