Braves re-acquire Duvall from Marlins

The Atlanta Braves acquired outfielder Adam Duvall from the Miami Marlins for catcher Alex Jackson, the team announced Friday.

Atlanta also acquired the slugging outfielder from the Cincinnati Reds ahead of the July trade deadline in 2018.

Duvall hit 16 home runs in 57 games as a member of the Braves in 2020 before signing a one-year, $5-million deal with Miami this offseason. His contract includes a mutual option for 2022.

The 32-year-old has been one of the Marlins' most potent bats this season. He's hit 22 home runs and driven in 68 runs despite an underwhelming .229/.277/.478 slash line.

The move comes on the heels of Atlanta acquiring Eddie Rosario from the Cleveland Indians in an effort to shore up the outfield ranks in the wake of Ronald Acuna's season-ending injury.

Jackson, 25, has yet to establish himself at the major-league level. The Seattle Mariners drafted him sixth overall in 2014, and he's batting .287/.366/.694 with 11 home runs in 30 games at Triple-A this season.
