AL, NL Rookie of the Year odds: Arozarena, India favored entering last 40 games
The 2021 MLB season is entering its final 40-game stretch, and the Rookie of the Year race is still in full swing. Jonathan India looks like the easy winner in the National League, but Trevor Rogers could still give him a run for his money. On the other side, Randy Arozarena narrowly leads a stacked American League field.
Here are the Rookie of the Year odds as of Wednesday, with a look at the top remaining betting options:

Randy Arozarena (+125)
Arozarena was the preseason betting favorite after his historic run through the 2020 postseason. Yet, for much of the year, he looked like he'd fail to deliver on the massive hype. Then came his most recent 20 games, over which the Rays star slashed .420/.466/.778 with a stellar 1.244 OPS and six homers. He now leads all AL rookies in batting fWAR (2.5) and wOBA (.354).
Adolis Garcia (+350)
Adolis Garcia appeared to be the safe bet over his former minor-league teammate until Arozarena's recent tear, and the Rangers slugger still might be the better wager of the two. He's tied for ninth in the AL in home runs (26) - no other rookie has 20 - and ranks second in batting fWAR (1.9), though his brutal plate discipline could hurt his case in the final vote.
Luis Garcia (+450)
The Astros' best pitcher this season may be Luis Garcia, who leads the team's regular rotation in FIP (3.43) and strikeout rate (29.4%). He's also logged 111 2/3 innings for a group that's been ravaged by injuries, helping steady Houston's pitching staff ahead of a potential World Series run.

Trevor Rogers | +390 |
Patrick Wisdom | +3000 |
Ian Anderson | +3000 |
Dylan Carlson | +4000 |
Tyrone Taylor | +6000 |
Tyler Stephenson | +6500 |
Jazz Chisholm | +7500 |
Ke'Bryan Hayes | +7500 |
Albert Alzolay | +10000 |

Zach Thompson | +10000 |
Jonathan India (-525)
This has become a two-man race between India and Rogers, though oddsmakers seem to feel it's already been decided. It's certainly hard to argue with India's production: The Reds infielder has more than twice the fWAR (3.3) of the NL's next-best rookie bat, and he leads the field in OBP (.393) while ranking second in home runs (16). How's that for balance?
Trevor Rogers (+390)
This looked like Rogers' award to lose for a while, and his surface stats (2.45 ERA, 3.3 pitching fWAR) would suggest a tight race with India atop the NL oddsboard. How the Marlins star ends his rookie season will be key - Rogers allowed two runs in 3 2/3 innings in his last start before missing three weeks on the bereavement and restricted list. He'd allowed two earned runs or fewer with at least five innings pitched in 15 of his prior 19 starts this season.
