San Diego Padres outfielder Tommy Pham and shortstop Ha-seong Kim collided in left field during Wednesday's matinee against the Chicago Cubs while attempting to field a fly ball in the fourth inning.
Even though neither one made the catch, the Padres improbably wound up turning an inning-ending double play thanks to Kim's relay into the infield and the Cubs' players not running.

San Diego removed Pham and Kim from the game. Wil Myers pinch-hit for Pham in the top of the fifth and took over in the outfield, while Kim was part of a double switch that brought in reliever Pierce Johnson.
Trainers tended to both Pham and Kim, but they each walked off the field without assistance. On his way back to the dugout, Pham appeared to get heated with another member of the Padres before being ushered down the tunnel.

Pham, 33, owns a .220/.351/.333 slash line this year with four homers and six steals in 34 games played.
Meanwhile, 25-year-old Kim is struggling in his first season since leaving the Korean Baseball Organization. The infielder is hitting .199/.250/.331 with three home runs and four stolen bases over 26 games.
