Nothing gold can stay.

Cleveland Indians ace Shane Bieber saw his streak of registering eight or more strikeouts narrowly come to an end at 20 starts Sunday.

The right-hander was pulled from Sunday afternoon's start against the Seattle Mariners in the fifth inning with two outs and the bases loaded.

He punched out seven Mariners through 4 2/3 innings but was already at 103 pitches. Bieber allowed three runs on five hits while walking four. He now owns a 3.17 ERA and 13.88 K/9 in 59 2/3 innings across nine starts.

Bieber's early exit also marks the first time he's failed to finish at least five innings in a regular-season start since going just 1 2/3 innings against the New York Yankees on June 9, 2019.

He initially set the record on April 30 when he notched his 18th consecutive game with at least eight strikeouts, breaking a tie with Hall of Famer Randy Johnson.

The 25-year-old will look to the right the ship against the Minnesota Twins next week.
