Former MLB superstar Manny Ramirez appears to be eyeing a way back to the big leagues.
After the New York Mets fired hitting coach Chili Davis and assistant hitting coach Tom Slater, Ramirez reached out to owner Steve Cohen to see if he could lend a hand.

It's unknown if the Mets would consider Ramirez, or if his offer is even serious.
Nevertheless, the 12-time All-Star knows a thing or two about hitting after recording a career slash line of .312/.411/.585 with 555 home runs and 1,831 RBIs over 2,302 games between 1993 and 2011. Whether his on-field success would translate into being effective as a coach remains to be seen.
The 48-year-old hasn't lost the baseball itch. Most recently, he signed a deal with the Sydney Blue Sox of the Australian Baseball League in December. His stay was short-lived, as he was released before playing in a game due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Mets, meanwhile, have tabbed minor-league hitting coordinator Hugh Quattlebaum as the club's new hitting coach, with Kevin Howard serving as his assistant.
