The Pittsburgh Pirates signed veteran corner infielder Todd Frazier to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training, the team announced Saturday.
Frazier, 35, will earn $1.5 million if he makes the team in 2021, Rob Biertempfel of The Athletic reports.
The Pirates are currently slated to open the season with rookie Ke'Bryan Hayes at third base and Colin Moran at first.
Frazier spent the 2020 season with the Texas Rangers and New York Mets hitting .236/.302/.382 with four home runs in 45 games.
A two-time All-Star with the Cincinnati Reds, Frazier has hit 218 home runs over the course of his 10-year career and won the Home Run Derby in 2015.
