Free-agent outfielder Adam Duvall is garnering interest from the Miami Marlins, according to Craig Mish of MLB Network.
The Atlanta Braves non-tendered Duvall earlier this winter, making him a free agent. Heading into his second year of arbitration, the slugger was projected to earn $4.4 to $7.1 million.
The 32-year-old hit .237/.301/.532 with 16 home runs in 57 games last year, memorably collecting three of those homers and nine RBIs during a September drubbing of the Marlins which the Braves won 29-9.
Duvall boasts an impressive .545 slugging percentage over the last two seasons but struggles to maintain a strong OPS due to a mediocre .307 on-base percentage in 98 games played. The corner outfielder has struggled defensively, too, costing his team 6.3 runs during that time, according to FanGraphs.
The Marlins have Corey Dickerson, Garrett Cooper, Harold Ramirez, and Lewis Brinson vying for playing time in the corner outfield, with prospect Monte Harrison potentially looking to make a more full-time leap to the majors as well after appearing in 32 contests last year.
