Archie Bradley non-tendered by Reds, becomes free agent

The Cincinnati Reds didn't tender a contract to Archie Bradley ahead of Wednesday's deadline, making the reliever a free agent.

The Reds acquired the 28-year-old midway through the 2020 campaign from the Arizona Diamondbacks for outfielder Josh VanMeter and minor-leaguer Stuart Fairchild.

Bradley authored a 2.95 ERA and 2.59 FIP over 18 1/3 innings last season, notching six saves.

He owns 28 saves and a 2.95 ERA over 221 appearances since becoming a full-time reliever in 2017.

Bradley was one of five players the Reds non-tendered, along with fellow reliever R.J. Alaniz, catcher Curt Casali, infielder Kyle Farmer, and outfielder Brian Goodwin. Farmer later signed a one-year deal to return to the Reds for the 2021 season.
