Seattle Mariners outfielder Kyle Lewis has won the 2020 American League Rookie of the Year Award, the Baseball Writers' Association of America announced Monday.

Lewis is the 12th player in AL history to win the award via unanimous selection, joining Carlton Fisk, Mark McGwire, Sandy Alomar Jr., Tim Salmon, Derek Jeter, Nomar Garciaparra, Evan Longoria, Mike Trout, Jose Abreu, Aaron Judge, and Yordan Alvarez. 13 rookies have won unanimously in the National League as well.
The 25-year-old is the first Mariners rookie to win the award since Ichiro Suzuki in 2001.
The center fielder slashed .262/.364/.437 with 11 home runs and 28 RBIs in 58 games this past summer.
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert finished second behind Lewis, earning 27 of 30 second-place votes as well as two third-place votes. Houston Astros right-hander Cristian Javier finished third with 11 third-place selections.
Oakland Athletics catcher Sean Murphy, Detroit Tigers shortstop Willi Castro, and Los Angeles Angels first baseman Jared Walsh split the remaining three second-place picks.
