Padres are the No.4 seed and will host the No.5 seed next week at Petco Park.
So this series here is now officially a tune-up.
San Diego is now set to host a playoff game for the first time since 2006.
While the Padres know where they stand, it remains to be seen which team will travel to San Diego for a three-game wild-card series next week. The weekend's games will determine the Padres' opponent after the Cardinals' loss Friday left them tied with the Cincinnati Reds for the NL's fifth seed.
