Manny Ramirez still isn't ready to quit.
The 48-year-old has signed a deal with the Sydney Blue Sox of the Australian Baseball League, team owner Adam Dobb - a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan - confirmed to ABL.com.
The 12-time All-Star's contract is a one-year deal that includes an option, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.
"He can still swing the bat," Ramirez's agent Hector Zepeda told Heyman. "He's still got it."
Ramirez will act as a player-coach for the Blue Sox, who finished last in the four-team Northeast Division a year ago with a 16-23 record.
The two-time World Series champion also had previous ties to the Auckland Tuatara, who won the Northeast Division last campaign but lost to the Melbourne Aces in the semifinals.
"It was his preference to play down here in a big city, and we're thrilled to have a player of his caliber in Sydney," Dobb added.
The former World Series MVP and nine-time Silver Slugger played 19 seasons in Major League Baseball, spending time with five different teams highlighted by the Red Sox, Cleveland Indians, and Los Angeles Dodgers. Ramirez's last game in the majors came back in 2011 as a member of the Tampa Bay Rays.
