Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Joe Kelly won his appeal regarding his eight-game suspension for throwing at Houston Astros batters, having it reduced to a five-game ban, the Dodgers announced, according to Pedro Moura of The Athletic.

Kelly, 32, was suspended following a game against the Astros on July 28. The right-hander threw "in the area of the head of Alex Bregman and later taunted Carlos Correa, which led to the benches clearing," according to an MLB release.

Kelly appealed the decision and was available to the team until being placed on the 10-day injured list with shoulder inflammation on Monday.

Kelly has yet to give up a run through 6 1/3 innings this year, allowing five hits and five walks while striking out five.
