The doubleheader scheduled to take place between the St. Louis Cardinals and Detroit Tigers on Thursday has been postponed, the league announced, according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.
They're the latest games to be affected by the COVID-19 outbreak in the Cardinals organization. These are the 16th and 17th contests the club has had to postpone. St. Louis hasn't played since July 29.
This doubleheader was already a makeup twin bill of games originally scheduled for Aug. 5.
The Cardinals are next scheduled to play a three-game set against the Chicago White Sox, starting Aug. 14.
Seventeen total members of the Cardinals have tested positive for COVID-19, including Paul DeJong, Yadier Molina, and, most recently, Lane Thomas.
