Report: Latest Cardinals tests expected to result in multiple positives
The latest batch of St. Louis Cardinals coronavirus tests are expected to include multiple new positives, sources told Jeff Passan of ESPN.
St. Louis isn't expecting to find out the results until Monday.
"The team is still awaiting additional results from recent COVID-19 testing, and based on the timing of those test results, we do not anticipate having any updates until tomorrow," the Cardinals announced Sunday. "The team will remain in Milwaukee tonight as planned."
St. Louis was scheduled to play a three-game weekend series against the Milwaukee Brewers, but that was postponed due to their COVID-19 outbreak.
The Cardinals are currently slated to travel to Detroit for four games against the Tigers from Tuesday to Thursday, but Sunday's test results could change those plans.
As of Saturday night, there were reportedly six positive test results among the Cardinals' 58-person traveling group.
The Cardinals last played on Wednesday in Minnesota.
