Minnesota Twins infielder Miguel Sano tested positive for COVID-19, the team announced Saturday, according to Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic.
Sano, who is in quarantine away from the team, will need to test negative twice before he'll be able to return to the Twins' summer camp.
He's the fourth Twins player to test positive since intake began, with the others being Willians Astudillo, Edwar Colina, and Nick Gordon. All players consented to be identified following their positive tests, according to Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com.
The slugger is coming off a productive 2019 where he hit .247/.346/.576 with 34 home runs and 79 RBIs in 105 games.
Sano, 27, recently made headlines after he was accused of kidnapping and beating a man in the Dominican Republic. He denied the allegations and is not facing any charges.
