A five-run first inning in last night's ESPN game put our under bet in serious peril, but the bats ran pretty dry from that point on as we cashed our tickets.

Let's see what Thursday has to offer.

(Odds source: theScore Bet)

ESPN game: Lotte Giants (+165) @ Kia Tigers (-200)

Following a pair of comfortable 7-2 and 11-2 wins, Kia will be looking to complete the series sweep Thursday. It would be the Tigers' second series sweep of both the campaign and the Giants - Kia is a perfect 5-0 against Lotte this season, outscoring the team 39-7.

There doesn't figure to be any respite for Lotte, as Aaron Brooks gets the start in the series finale for Kia. Through five starts this season, Brooks has posted an excellent 3.23 ERA and 1.24 WHIP to go along with 26 strikeouts and just five walks.

On paper, this matchup figures to be Brooks' easiest test of the season to date, with his previous three home starts coming against some of the league's best lineups in Doosan, Kiwoom, and LG. On Thursday he faces a Giants team that has scored just 27 runs in their last 10 games, ranks second-last in runs, home runs, SLG, OBP, and OPS, and are dead last in average with runners in scoring position by a wide margin.

Lotte counters with Noh Kyung-eun, who's been unable to piece together two strong starts in a row since returning to the mound this season. Both of his blowups came in his two home starts, but he's been quite impressive in his two road appearances, limiting Doosan to three runs on four hits in six innings, and Hanwha to one run on eight hits in six innings.

Should Noh piece together another decent road outing, he will at least give the Giants an opportunity to avoid the sweep, but Kia should be able to close this series out in dominant fashion once again. If you're not willing to lay the price on Kia but are still looking for action on the game, then I have a strong lean to the under as well.

Pick: Kia (-200), Under 9 (-115)

Other picks:

  • Wyverns/Dinos under 9.5 (-115)
  • Bears/Wiz over 12.5 (-110)
