The New York Yankees have released 45 minor leaguers, sources told Erik Boland of Newsday.
New York has reportedly agreed to pay the remaining MiLB players their $400 weekly stipend through at least the end of June.
Major-league teams have made hundreds of cuts over the last week.
The Minnesota Twins and Kansas City Royals are among the clubs committed to paying minor-league players through the summer, and neither club intends on making any cuts to their systems.
Washington Nationals players announced Sunday they would help cover the losses felt by minor leaguers in the organization. However, the club committed on Monday to paying the full stipend for the month of June instead of reducing payments.
The Yankees are the richest MLB franchise, as their net worth was estimated to be $5 billion in early April, according to Forbes.
