As Major League Baseball continues to deal with the work stoppage due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Houston Astros right-hander Justin Verlander is helping those in need.

Verlander and wife Kate Upton announced Saturday on Instagram that they'll be donating the proceeds from his paychecks to different charities on a weekly basis during the pandemic.

The two highlight aid workers, first responders, and those who have fallen on hard times due to COVID-19.

They didn't specify which organizations will receive the donations, but the couple said they'd announce the first recipient after Verlander gets the first paycheck.
