The Boston Red Sox announced Tuesday that a minor-league player in their system tested positive for COVID-19, according to Guerin Austin of NESN.

The player was tested on Monday, Austin adds. He was last at JetBlue Park on March 15, but it's believed he was infected after leaving Fort Myers, Florida. The Red Sox said he's doing well but added they won't comment further out of respect for his privacy.

The team's spring training facilities have been shut down for at least two weeks and the complex will undergo a thorough cleaning as a result of the diagnosis. Players who stayed in Florida to train on an individual basis will not be able to access the facilities during this time.

Elsewhere, two New York Yankees minor leaguers and a Cincinnati Reds employee have tested positive for the coronavirus this spring. So far, no major-league players are known to have tested positive.
