Verlander's injury report is vague enough to generate both hope and extreme fear, making his new ranking a potential overreaction and underreaction in equal measure. The same could maybe be said for Sale, but his injury is more worrisome, especially since he was sidelined by an elbow ailment to end last year, too. Both might not be worth the trouble.
And while Scherzer is dealing with an injury to his right side, reports suggest it won't impact his readiness for Opening Day. Don't doubt Mad Max, though; if it's worrisome, you can confidently take Buehler ahead of him.
Clevinger is progressing and could be back in Cleveland's rotation by mid-April.
Both Athletics starters with very high strikeout upside (Montas and Luzardo) were underrated in the previous iteration of this list.
