The Boston Red Sox are in agreement with outfielder Kevin Pillar on a one-year contract in the $4-million range, according to Alex Speier of the Boston Globe and Chris Cotillo of MassLive.
Pillar, 31, split the 2019 campaign between the Toronto Blue Jays and San Francisco Giants, hitting .259/.287/.432 with 21 homers and 14 steals.
Over his seven-year career, he's posted a .719 OPS and 86 wRC+, according to FanGraphs, but he's proven to be an above-average defensive center fielder.
With the Red Sox, Pillar should compete for time in the outfield with incumbent center fielder and 2018 Gold Glove winner Jackie Bradley Jr., as well Andrew Benintendi and the newly acquired Alex Verdugo.
