After saying in November that he wasn't ready to retire, Jose Bautista is actively pursuing employment opportunities for the upcoming season.

The six-time All-Star, who sat out the entire 2019 campaign, told Jon Heyman of MLB Network that he's looking to play in 2020 if the opportunity presents itself.

Bautista, who turned 39 in October, last appeared in a major-league game during the 2018 season when he spent time with three different clubs - the Atlanta Braves, New York Mets, and Philadelphia Phillies. He ended that year by playing 27 contests for Philadelphia, during which he slashed .244/.404/.467 with two homers, two steals, and four doubles.

Afterward, the veteran hit free agency but did not land another deal.

From 2010-15 with the Toronto Blue Jays, Bautista made every single All-Star Game. He authored a .268/.390/.555 line over that span while finishing among the top eight in MVP voting four times and winning three Silver Sluggers.
