The Minnesota Twins are among the teams pursuing free-agent left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network.

The Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers, Ryu's former club, are also reportedly interested in signing the southpaw as baseball's winter meetings kick off in San Diego. The Dodgers have also been linked to Gerrit Cole and Stephen Strasburg.

The Twins are in the market for extra starting pitching after losing Kyle Gibson to the Texas Rangers earlier in the offseason. Minnesota did re-sign veteran right-hander Michael Pineda, but he will open the season on the restricted list for the first 39 games to complete a 60-game suspension.

Ryu, 32, is coming off a career season where he finished second in NL Cy Young voting and was also a first-time All-Star. He went 14-5 with a major-league-leading 2.32 ERA and 1.01 WHIP in 29 starts.
