The Seattle Mariners signed right-handed starting pitcher Kendall Graveman to a one-year contract, the team announced Tuesday.

The deal is worth $1.5 million and includes a $3.5-million club option for 2021 with a $500,000 buyout, a source told Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

For his career, Graveman is 23-29 with a 4.38 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP with 286 strikeouts in 446 innings.

The 28-year-old hasn't pitched in the majors since 2018 when he was a member of the Oakland Athletics. He underwent Tommy John surgery that July and was then non-tendered by Oakland in the offseason.

Graveman signed with the Chicago Cubs for 2019, but he only completed six minor-league innings before his 2020 option was declined.
