Yankees fans boo Sanchez as slump continues
Gary Sanchez is having a rough postseason, and New York Yankees fans are letting their catcher hear it.
Sanchez was peppered by boos from the hometown crowd after a fourth-inning groundout during Thursday's Game 4, according to Erik Boland of Newsday.
The 26-year-old was also booed after striking out on three pitches to strand the bases loaded in the first inning.
Sanchez is now 2-for-23 in the playoffs - including an 0-for-13 slide - with two singles and 11 strikeouts. Factoring in his three walks, Sanchez owns a .087/.185/.087 slash line. One of his two playoff hits has come against the Houston Astros in the American League Championship Series.
The Yankees entered Thursday's Game 4 trailing the Astros 2-1 in the ALCS.
Sanchez was one of the more reliable hitters on the Yankees during the regular season, posting a .232/.316/.525 slash line over 106 games with 34 homers.
