Washington Nationals skipper Dave Martinez is returning to the team to manage Friday's game against the Miami Marlins, the club announced.
Martinez underwent a minor heart procedure Monday after feeling chest pains during Sunday's game.
The 54-year-old was released from the hospital Tuesday and will not require any further cardiac treatment in the near future, according to Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post.
Martinez rejoins a Nats squad clinging to the National League's top wild-card spot; Washington holds a single-game lead over the Milwaukee Brewers and sits two games above the Chicago Cubs.
