If you ask Detroit Tigers designated hitter Miguel Cabrera why he was ejected from Monday's game against the Houston Astros, he won't have an answer.

It was his fourth ejection of the season, and each has been a mystery to the veteran slugger.

"The last three times they throw me out, they don't fine me because they knew they threw me out for no reason - like today," Cabrera said postgame, according to Chris McCosky of the Detroit News.

Home plate umpire Alfonso Marquez also booted Tigers skipper Ron Gardenhire from the game.

Gardenhire and Cabrera were kicked out after the top of the fifth for arguing balls and strikes, according to Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press. Cabrera flew out on the first pitch he saw in his final at-bat.

The conflict may have been a misunderstanding. Cabrera said he was talking to Astros second baseman Jose Altuve, who was standing in the on-deck circle, about rookie Yordan Alvarez's impressive play, and not arguing with Marquez, Fenech adds.

Cabrera was playing well before getting tossed. He was 2-for-3 at the plate on Monday with a pair of singles and an RBI.
