Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is listed as day-to-day with a knee issue but will not be placed on the 10-day injured list, according to Scott Mitchell of TSN.
An MRI showed some inflammation in his left knee, but Guerrero assured "it's nothing major."
The 20-year-old phenom will sit out for a few days but is hopeful he can return to the lineup "very soon," Mitchell adds.
Guerrero exited Saturday's game against the Seattle Mariners with left knee discomfort. He made a tough play in the field during the second inning, and Brandon Drury took over for him in the third. It's unclear if this play contributed to the injury.
He missed five weeks of minor-league action in 2018 with a patellar tendon strain in the same knee.
