The Philadelphia Phillies acquired Corey Dickerson from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for international signing bonus money and a player to be named later, the Phillies announced Wednesday.
Dickerson, 30, is hitting .317/.376/.556 with four homers and one steal over 43 games this year while missing a portion of the season due to a right shoulder strain.
He's scheduled to hit free agency this offseason and is completing his final year of arbitration eligibility. Since he's been traded midseason, the former All-Star will be ineligible to receive a qualifying offer and won't be attached to draft-pick compensation.
The Phillies possess the 10th-best outfield in the National League this year, according to FanGraphs. They've lost Andrew McCutchen and Jay Bruce due to injury, with the latter originally acquired from the Seattle Mariners to fill in for McCutchen.
