Mired in a second-half slump, the Colorado Rockies are reportedly willing to listen to offers for outfielder Charlie Blackmon, according to Jon Morosi of MLB Network.
While Morosi acknowledges the chances of a deal are remote, he lists the Texas Rangers, Cincinnati Reds, and St. Louis Cardinals as potential suitors.
The Rockies are 3-7 since the All-Star break, which includes the San Francisco Giants completing a four-game sweep. The Giants now sit ahead of Colorado in the NL West, and at 18 1/2 games back the Rockies are tied for last place with the San Diego Padres.
However, Colorado is still within striking distance of a postseason berth, sitting five games back of the second NL wild-card spot.
This season, Blackmon has returned to his 2017 form that earned him a top-five MVP finish. Over 82 games, the 33-year-old four-time All-Star owns a .319/.365/.602 slash line with 21 home runs and a pair of stolen bases.
Immediately before the 2018 season and with Blackmon set to become a free agent next winter, the Rockies signed the two-time Silver Slugger to a six-year extension worth $108 million. Beyond 2019, Blackmon will be owed $43 million through 2021, and an additional $31 million if the outfielder picks up his player options in 2022 and 2023.
