The New York Yankees had a significant scouting presence on hand at Comerica Park to watch Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Marcus Stroman take on the Detroit Tigers on Friday, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reported.

Not to be outdone, the division-rival Boston Red Sox sent senior vice president of baseball operations Frank Wren to Detroit, according to Morosi.

Team officials from the Atlanta Braves were also seen in the scout section, added Morosi. The Braves hired former Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos as their GM prior to the 2018 season.

Stroman wound up shutting out the Tigers over seven innings, allowing six hits while striking out five.

After Friday's game, the 28-year-old now has a maximum of two starts remaining before the Blue Jays must decide if they want to move him prior to the July 31 deadline. The next would likely be against the Cleveland Indians at Rogers Centre, with the second coming against the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium.

The Medford, N.Y., native has been outspoken about his expectation that the Blue Jays will trade him. He's spent his entire major-league career with the organization since being drafted in the first round of the 2012 draft.

Stroman owns a 3.06 ERA and 3.60 FIP over 117 2/3 frames this season and earned his first All-Star nod.

The one-time Gold Glove winner is under team control for one more season, heading into his final year of arbitration eligibility.

Entering Friday, New York's rotation ranked eighth among American League teams by FanGraphs' WAR and has been forced to make do without Luis Severino all season. Eight different pitchers have made at least one start for New York, and they collectively owned a 4.11 ERA and 4.62 FIP.
