Report: Giants will be sellers at trade deadline despite hot stretch

Despite their recent surge in the National League West standings, the San Francisco Giants reportedly aren't planning to attempt a postseason push.

Winners of four straight games - and eight of 10 - entering Wednesday, the Giants still intend to sell assets at the July 31 trade deadline, according to Jeff Passan of ESPN.

San Francisco will reportedly stick with what Passan describes as its "trade-Bumgarner-and-all-the-relievers plan."

Even though the Giants have moved into third place in the division, ace starter Madison Bumgarner and bullpen arms like Will Smith and Sam Dyson are expected to wind up on different teams at the end of the month.

Passan reports that the Giants attempted to move Bumgarner a month ago to no success. Teams eyeing the left-hander apparently don't expect him to be moved until close to the deadline.

The Milwaukee Brewers, Minnesota Twins, New York Yankees, and Philadelphia Phillies have all been among the teams linked to Bumgarner since the beginning of the year.
