Texas Rangers catcher Sam Huff was awarded the Larry Doby Award as the Most Valuable Player of Major League Baseball's Futures Game on Sunday.
The 21-year-old backstop came up clutch during the final inning of regulation with a two-run, game-tying home run in the seventh off Colorado Rockies left-hander Ben Bowden.

Huff's blast was the final scoring play of the game, as the 2-2 score held through one inning of extras.
Huff is the second Rangers prospect to win the Larry Doby Award, with Joey Gallo becoming the first back in 2014. The third baseman finished with a similar line, hitting a two-run homer of his own.
Despite not ranking among the top 10 catching prospects in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline, Huff has had a breakout 2019 season. The No. 21 farmhand in the Rangers' system, Huff has authored a .284/.327/.559 with 21 home runs over 80 games between two levels this season.
The 21-year-old was selected in the seventh round with the 219th overall pick in the 2016 MLB Draft.
