CC Sabathia is all about making baseball more exciting, even if it comes at his expense.

The New York Yankees veteran left-hander was joined on his podcast with David Price and Mookie Betts of the Boston Red Sox and touched on a number of things, including when he believes baseball is at its most enjoyable.

"For me, I just want to have more fun playing the game," Sabathia said on "The Shift on R2C2 Podcast." "The bat flips, the talking shit, and the getting into it. That shit is fun. Watching the World Baseball Classic, if we had that kind of flair on a nightly basis and nobody got mad, and nobody was throwing at somebody cause they did something dope, then I think it would be a lot more fun."

Sabathia was then asked by Betts if he would be upset if a player excessively celebrated after hitting a home run off of him.

"Don't give up that shit bro," Sabathia said. "You know what I'm saying.

"I love what (Derek) Dietrich is doing, hitting these balls 900 feet. If he wants to walk, don't throw that fucking ball in the zone near him. I've never been mad at raw emotion, it makes the game fun."

Sabathia, Betts, and Price were all in agreement that the league should relax its limitations on player equipment like it does during Players' Weekend.

"There's a lot of restrictions that should be lifted," Betts said. "You see other sports like basketball and football and they get to wear what they want and you can look at it and kind of tell his personality. They get to express their personality more."
