With the 43rd pick in the 2019 MLB amateur draft, the Boston Red Sox selected Cameron Cannon, an infielder from Arizona.

The Arizona Diamondbacks drafted Cannon in the 21st round in 2016, but he instead chose to pursue a college career with the Wildcats.

Red Sox fans may see a bit of former MVP Dustin Pedroia in Cannon, as the infielder has a knack for making solid contact and getting on base. He didn't finish with fewer walks than strikeouts during any of his three seasons at Arizona.
