With the fourth pick in the 2019 MLB amateur draft, the Miami Marlins selected JJ Bleday, an outfielder out of Vanderbilt.
A red-hot junior season cemented Bleday as one of the premier sluggers in the college class. The 21-year-old leads all of NCAA Division I in home runs and is considered one of the most polished bats in the class. He could progress quickly through the minors but is expected to move to a corner outfield spot at the major-league level.
