With the 10th pick in the 2019 MLB amateur draft, the San Francisco Giants selected Hunter Bishop, an outfielder out of Arizona State.
Bishop, the younger brother of Seattle Mariners outfield prospect Braden Bishop, has the speed to stick in center field and the power to be a premium bat in any lineup. Bishop has filled out since being drafted in the 24th round by the San Diego Padres out of high school, matching size with skill as a junior to become one of the most sought-after college players in the draft.
The 20-year-old is especially excited to be on his way to the San Francisco Bay.
"Growing up, I went to so many different Giants games with my brother and my dad and it's just a dream come true and I'm so grateful to be a Giant," Bishop said, according to Kerry Crowley of the Bay Area News Group.

MLB.com money quote: "The only negative at all with Bishop now is a lack of a track record of success. His ability to stick to his gameplan consistently this season, to go along with his natural tools, has nearly everyone believing it's for real, lining him up for an early first-round selection."
