With the eighth pick in the 2019 MLB amateur draft, the Texas Rangers selected Josh Jung, a third baseman out of Texas Tech.
Jung started all 65 games at third base for the Red Raiders in 2018, helping them to a 45-20 record and a trip to the College World Series thanks to a team-leading .392 batting average, 103 hits, and 80 RBIs.
He's widely considered one of the top offensive players in the college ranks due to his natural power and smooth, right-handed swing.
