It took rookie Toronto Blue Jays skipper Charlie Montoyo 35 games to get ejected, and he did it with gusto on Monday night.
Home plate umpire Adam Hamari hilariously pulled off his mask and cocked his arm as though he was going to toss Montoyo. He hesitated and appeared to wait for Montoyo to say something else before giving him the old heave-ho.
The normally mild-mannered Montoyo became livid after Brandon Drury was called out looking on a strike below the zone, though Twins catcher Jason Castro framed it well.
Montoyo is in his first year as Blue Jays manager after serving as a bench coach for the Tampa Bay Rays.
