Oakland Athletics designated hitter Khris Davis is struggling at the plate. Entering Saturday, the 31-year-old was hitting .143 with no home runs over 10 games since April 14.

His struggles culminated in a four-strikeout outing against the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday night, and he went down swinging each time.

The slump is getting to the prodigious power hitter.

"I feel like shit," Davis told Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle on Saturday.

The streaky slugger hasn't been able to pinpoint the problem, other than to suggest his swing isn't quite right.

"I wish I knew," Davis said. "My swing just feels shitty. I’ll try to ride it out and hope good things come quickly."

Before his cold streak, Davis was enjoying what looked like a career season in the making. He was hitting .265/.315/.706 with 10 home runs and 19 RBIs in 17 games to begin the campaign.

His early success also came when he signed a new contract. On April 18, Davis agreed to a two-year extension with the A's worth a reported $33.5 million.

Though he's vexed at the dish right now, Davis is confident his season will turn around. After all, he's hit exactly .247 in four consecutive seasons.

"I’m searching right now,” Davis said. “Whenever it clicks, I’m sure it will come around."
