MLB announces All-Star Game finalists
Major League Baseball announced the All-Star Game finalists Friday, naming both league's top three vote-getters at each infield position as well as the top nine outfielders.
Fans will vote on the pool of finalists to decide the All-Star starters. Voting opens June 26 and closes the following day. The announcement will be made June 27 at 7:00 p.m. ET.
The All-Star Game is July 9 in Cleveland. The host Indians have only one player with a shot to become a starter in first baseman Carlos Santana.
The New York Yankees have at least one delegate at each position, while the Houston Astros lead the American League with seven total finalists.
In the National League, the Chicago Cubs reign supreme with seven finalists, including three outfielders.
