Report: Indians, Dodgers engaged in 'lots of different discussions'
With trade season underway, the Cleveland Indians and Los Angeles Dodgers are reportedly engaged in "lots of different discussions," according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
The Dodgers are interested in Cleveland's starting pitchers, according to Rosenthal. Earlier in November, the Indians began testing the market for top starters Corey Kluber and Carlos Carrasco, as well as other veterans. Los Angeles also has a need at catcher with Yasmani Grandal potentially leaving via free agency, while the Indians are fielding offers for their backstop, Yan Gomes.
Meanwhile, Cleveland has a noted need for outfielders and the Dodgers have some depth at the position. Rosenthal specifically notes Joc Pederson, Yasiel Puig, and Alex Verdugo as specific assets, while alluding to prospect catchers Keibert Ruiz and Will Smith.
While the two clubs seem to line up well on paper, both teams are in discussions with other teams as well, with the Dodgers still in the mix for Miami Marlins catcher J.T. Realmuto.
