Boston Red Sox left-hander David Price and Atlanta Braves relief pitcher Jonny Venters have been named the American League and National League Comeback Player of the Year, respectively.

Price went 16-7 with a 3.58 ERA over 30 starts after injuries limited him to only 74 2/3 innings in 2017. His 2018 campaign culminated with him shaking the perception he can't pitch effectively in the postseason. Price helped seal Boston's World Series victory after recording two wins against the Los Angeles Dodgers while posting a 1.98 ERA.

Venters, meanwhile, returned to Major League Baseball after missing five seasons due to his second and third Tommy John surgeries. The 33-year-old started his comeback in 2016 but didn't make it back to the bigs until this season. The reliever initially pitched for the Tampa Bay Rays, appearing in 22 games, before being traded to his original team, the Braves, in July.

After the deal, Venters posted a 3.54 ERA with a 1.23 WHIP and 16 strikeouts across 20 1/3 innings with Atlanta.
